Welcome to the St. Louis Peace Choir, a small, independent choral group of socially-conscious singers that meets monthly to practice singing in SATB harmony and to build a lasting free repository of egalitarian/peace songs appropriate for public schools.

  • As a circle choir, we give no concerts.  We’re more of a gathering of everyday people working to sharpen our harmonizing skills – something that takes time and practice.  Beginners are welcome.
  • Any adult is welcome to participate without experience and without audition.  There are no attendance obligations.  Singers LEARN THEIR PARTS ONLINE at home during the previous weeks so that our short time together is productive.
  • We are part of the peace movement.  One of our goals is to create a free REPOSITORY of short, secular, egalitarian songs appropriate for public schools.  We encourage people to write and contribute copyright-free peace songs for us to learn.  It’s our intention to record and upload these songs so that others will have the chance to learn them too.
  • The choir is organized as a diverse, member-led democracy.  Responsibilities such as directing and music selection are shared.  We follow the precept that singers should never be expected to sing words that they wouldn’t want to speak.

There are some things in life that just can’t be learned well from books.  Choral singing is one of them.  So learn with us.  Join our small circle choir of socially-conscious musicians who meet monthly to blend voices.  Be the harmony.  Membership is free but registration is required.  Send request with name and email address to: sing@STLpeacechoir.org.  (You’ll receive a monthly reminder with links to the music before each Choral Gathering, plus any important messages such as snow cancellations.)
